1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup mushroom pieces
1/2 cup celery, diced
3 tbsp fat
1 tbsp flour
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp chili powder
1 cup water
2 cups canned tomatoes, diced
2 cups canned peas, drained
1 tbsp vinegar
2 cups canned shrimp or 1/2 lb cooked shrimp, tails removed
4 cups steamed rice

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions, mushrooms, and celery in melted fat until tender, about 10 minutes. Add flour, salt, sugar and chili powder; which has been mixed with 1/4 cup of the water. Add remaining water and simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes. Add tomatoes, peas, vinegar and shrimp. Heat all thoroughly. Serve with hot steamed rice.
