2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. sugar
1 c. applesauce
1/2 c. nuts

Sift flour, salt, cinnamon & nutmeg together. Mix shortening, sugar & egg. Add applesauce & soda (stir applesauce before adding). Stir in flour mixture. Mix well, then add raisins & nuts. Drop on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on rack.
