one 10 oz. loaf French Bread cut in 10 inch cubes (10 cups)
8 eggs
3 c. milk
4 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 tsp. optional salt

Topping:
2 T. cubed butter or margarine
3 T. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
maple syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Place bread cubes in greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt. Pour over bread; cover; refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Dot with butter. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over top. Cover and bake 350º F for 45-50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes. Serve with syrup.
