1 Cup Sugar
2 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Soda
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Shortening
1 Stick Butter or Margarine
4 Tablespoons Cocoa
1 Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
2 Eggs, Slightly Beaten
1/2 Cup Buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the sugar, flour, soda and cinnamon and set aside.

In a saucepan, bring to a boil the shortening, margarine/butter, cocoa and water.

Pour hot mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well.

Next, stir in the vanilla, beaten eggs and buttermilk. Mix well.

Pour into an ungreased 8 x 12 x 12 pan. Bake at 350 F for approximately 30 minutes. Cooking time may need to be adjusted slightly, so test with toothpick.
