1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup orange juice
1 Tbsp grated orange rind
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sour milk
4 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. In a separate bowl cream shortening and brown sugar together. Add eggs, orange rind and vanilla. Add remaining liquid and dry ingredients alternately until completely combined. Drop by teaspoonful on to an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
