Beat 1 C. white sugar, 1 C. brown sugar, 1/2 C. oil, and 2 eggs. Set aside.

Sift together:
2 C. flour
1 teas. baking soda
1/2 teas. salt
1 teas. cinnamon (heaping)
1/2 teas. nutmeg (level)

Peel and quarter 4 cups Granny Smith or similiar apple. (approx. 7 small ones)

Fold sifted flour mixture into wet sugar batter. Add apples.

Grease 9x13 pan. Spread cake batter into pan and bake at 350* oven for 45-50 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
