1 qt. 1/2 & 1/2
6 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2-1/2 cups sugar
dash of salt
fruit (optional)
Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs, add 1/2 & 1/2, salt, and vanilla. Stir in sugar and fruit if desired. It is best if the fruit is mashed or blended. Pour into mixture into freezer can, then add whole milk up to the full line.

Put can in bottom of ice cream maker, add 1 cup water and 1 cup salt and then ice. Repeat ice and salt to the top and add 1 more cup of water. Freeze.

Everybody loved Grammy's ice cream and she loved making it. She made it almost daily during hay season.
