Cake -
1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 - 4 ounce bar sweet cooking chocolate (broken into pieces)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 eggs


Cooked Frosting-
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup milk
boil these three ingredients for 2 minutes

Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips and beat with a spoon just until chips are melted then pour over the cooked cake. This sets up quickly.

Cake -
In mixing bowl pour the boiling water over the oats, add the 1/2 cup of butter or margarine and the chocolate. Let this stand for 20 minutes; Stir till well combined. Add eggs, then flour, sugar, soda, salt and brown sugar. Beat at low speed until thoroughly combined.

Pour into a greased and floured 13X9 pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes
