2 Sticks softened salted butter (Let sit at room temperature about an hour)
1 Stick Margarine
2 cups granulated sugar
1 egg (at room temperature)
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour (sifted)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream butter and margarine, add sugar and beat until creamy, about 5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla and mix thoroughly. Add the flour, a spoonful at a time to mix in well on medium.
2. Using a cookie press, lay in strips on counter and cut into small rectangles. Add to baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 325°F for 7 - 8 minutes. They do not need to be brown to be ready. Cool on the cookie sheet for about 5 minutes and then remove them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
3. You can also use an icing tip and swirl in a circle.
