˝ cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
˝ cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup chopped pecans (toasted recommended)
Optional: ˝ teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional: pinch of salt (if using unsalted butter)

Prepare the pan
Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or foil. Lightly grease and set aside.
Toast the pecans (optional but recommended)
Toast pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring often. Set aside.
Cook the fudge base
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in brown sugar and condensed milk.
Bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat and cook for 5–7 minutes, until thick and glossy.
Add flavor and nuts
Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, salt, and pecans until evenly mixed.
Set the fudge
Pour into prepared pan and smooth the top.
Cool at room temperature for 1 hour, then refrigerate 2–3 hours until firm.
Slice and serve
Lift out and cut into squares. Store airtight. See less
