1 c. soft shortening or butter
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

1 1/2 tsp.cinnamon
1/4 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar and 2 eggs until well mixed.
Sift dry ingredients and stir together. Mix flour mixture into shortening mixture with hand mixer. Chill dough until firm. Make walnut sized balls of dough and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture. Place balls a couple of inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 mins. Cool on rack.

Pour a glass of cold milk and enjoy!

Grandma Joie Elmer never showed up empty handed when she saw her sons and grandsons. Everyone had their favorite treat and she would bring fresh baked goodies to her boys at every visit. As of her 94th year, she is still baking and made 3 separate desserts at Thanksgiving and brought everyone Snickerdoodles at Christmas!
