1 ½ c. shortening
2 c. sugar (plus a little more for rolling the uncooked cookies into)
2 eggs
½ c. molasses
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. ground ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar together in a large bowl.

Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl.

Beat the eggs and molasses into the creamed mixture until well combined.

Slowly beat in the mixed dry ingredients. Mix well.

Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Dip all sides into a bowl of sugar until the ball is coated.

Place on a baking sheet 2" apart. Bake for 5-8 minutes at 350º.
