Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1⅓ cup margarine, like Imperial
⅔ cup white sugar
⅔ cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour, Aunt Marge says Ceresota works well
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts
12 ounces chips

Directions:
Directions:
First cream margarine and sugars, then add eggs and vanilla. Then add flour, soda and salt which has been mixed together. Make sure batter is stiff. Bake a sample cookie.
If it flattens out too much, add more flour. Roll the dough into logs, wrap in wax paper and chill. When ready to bake, (350º) dough into pieces and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Put into oven on lower shelf at first to help crisp up the cookie, then transfer to top shelf to finish baking.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I can't imagine a list of my favorite recipes without Aunt Marge's chocolate chip cookies. This recipe makes a crisp cookie and cuts the sugar way down. No earth-shattering secrets here, just a fantastic simple recipe. Here's a double batch recipe. Artis and I wrap the dough in 5 inch log portions to take out of the freezer and bake fresh for a fix after the kids have gone asleep.
