2 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Butter, do not substitute
1 Cup Milk
3 1/2 Cup Cake Flour
5 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Tsp Vanilla
7 Egg Whites
1/2 Tsp Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and sugar until the mixture is as smooth as whipped cream.
Sift the cake flour and then measure.
Sift again with baking powder and salt.
Add alternately to the butter mixture with the 1 cup of milk.
Beat egg whites until stiff. I usually do this first and put it in another bowl, not plastic.
Add vanilla to them.
Then fold very gently into the cake batter.
Put in 3-layer cake pans lined with waxed paper on the bottom, and bake in a 350º oven for approximately 25 minutes.
Frost with boiled icing.
