¾ c. Shortening
1 c. Sugar
1 Egg
¼ c. Molasses
2 c. Flour
2 tsp. Baking soda
¼ tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Ginger
1 tsp. Cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses. Beat well. Mix in dry ingredients. Shape into balls. Dip the top in sugar. Place on baking sheet. Bake at 350º. Cookies will show cracks on the surface when done; about 10-12 minutes.
