"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 pkg Dry Yeast
2 Eggs
3/4 C Oil
1 tsp Salt
3 C Hot Water
1 C Sugar
Flour (Ha Ha...She doesn't state the qty needed...I guess it's your best guess)!

I think you roll these into bun size balls

Directions:
Directions:
Let raise
Punch down 5 times, then put in pans and let raise one hour
Press down and butter the tops
Let raise till morning and bake at 350º for 15 minutes

Grandma Fern's "Timed" Directions...
Mix about 4pm
Punch down at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm
At 9pm put in tins

I think you roll these into balls and set next to each other in a cake pan so that as they bake they will swell up to touch each other into one big pull-apart loaf.

Personal Notes:
It may be a good idea to research other Bun recipes (old recipes) to see how much flour you need to add and what type of pan and how to form the buns.

Grandma Fern made the BEST buns! Hopefully you can perfect this recipe to replicate her original recipe.
