1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. ground ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar together in a large bowl. Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Beat the eggs and molasses into the creamed mixture until well combined. Slowly beat in the dry ingredients. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Dip all sides into a bowl of sugar until the ball is coated. Place on a baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 5-8 minutes at 350 degrees.
