Dough:

1 cup shortening
2 Cups Brown Sugar
3 Eggs
4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon

FILLING:
1 lb. Dates Chopped
1 Cup ground Pecans
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Water
Cook this until dates are cooked. This thickens so may need to use more water.

Divide the dough into two balls and roll out and spread the filling and then roll up. Chill for 24 hours and you can also freeze and slice and bake when you need them.

375 F for about 10 to 15 minutes til light brown.
