Cookies and bars are a simple way to have something sweet. I liked making sugar cookies for the kids to decorate at Christmas. We would often make platters to go to the neighbors or people from church.

I collected many of my recipes from my sister, Sue, and my sisters-in-law, Ginny and Mary. We always have fun together when we cook in Iowa. When I make their recipes, I think about those good times.
