3/4 c. shortening,
1-1/2 c. sugar,
1-1/2 eggs,
3/4 c. sour milk,
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla,
3 c. flour,
3/4 c. cocoa,
1-1/2 tsp salt,
1-1/2 tsp baking soda,
3/4 c. hot water.

Filling:
2-1/2 tbsp. flour,
1/2 c. milk,
1/2 c. sugar,
1/2 c. shortening,
1/4 tsp. salt,
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, Add eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour milk and water.

Drop by teaspoonful on cookie sheet.
Bake 400º for six minutes.

When cool, put together with filling.

Filling: Mix flour with milk, cook until thick, stirring constantly. Cool and add sugar, shortening, salt and vanilla. Beat until real fluffy. Spread between 2 pies.

This is an oldy, but goody. My girls were very good at making these. And don't bother to count calories, because there's too many to count. By the way, this is actually only half a recipe. Makes a lot.
