5lb bag of golden delicious apples
1½ cup of sugar/Splenda
1 stick of butter
¼ teaspoon of salt

Directions:
wash apples and cut in quarters. After taking the core out, cut each quarter in half. do not peel. Put chopped apples in a dry pot, do not add water. Add the stick of butter, Splenda, and salt. Put lid on the pot and cook over medium-high head, letting them boil. As they cook down, take a wooden spoon to "pull away" apples from sides of put but do not stir. (we don't want mush!). As they begin to scorch, lean your pot sideways and gently scrape the bottom of the pot.

Personal Notes:
Scorched gives a good taste! Afterwards, soak your pot and have Brillo pad handy to clean.
