1 beef chuck roast
Potatoes
Carrots
Onion, to taste
Salt and pepper, to taste

In a large ovenproof pot or Dutch oven, brown the roast on all sides over medium heat. Add the vegetables to the pot, and water enough to prevent burning. Cover, and bake at 350°F until the vegetables are tender and the roast is cooked through. For the gravy, whisk flour with water to make a smooth paste, then stir it into the pan drippings and cook until thickened.
