3 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 c shortening
2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
(butter for best flavor)
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 c finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar gradually then add eggs, creaming until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and beat well. Measure flour in separate bowl, add baking powder and salt. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Add nuts with the last addition of flour.

Shape into 4 small rolls about 1 1/2" diameter. Chill overnight. Cut into 1/8" slices and put on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in 350 oven for about 10 minutes.
