1 head lettuce, broken into small pieces
1 cup celery diced
4 hard boiled eggs, diced
10 oz package frozen peas, thawed
1/2 cup green pepper, diced
1 medium onion, diced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (Grandma always left out the cheese)
8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
2 cups Miracle Whip
2 TBS sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix Miracle Whip and sugar together.

In a large bowl layer all other ingredients in the order listed starting with lettuce. Top with Miracle Whip and sugar mixture. Do not mix. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Toss lightly just before serving.

Grandma McConaughey use to make this salad all the time and it was always so good. She didn’t like the cheese so she never put it in. In fact, when she gave me the recipe she didn’t even list it. But I like the cheese in it!
