3 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup 'butter flavored' shortening (or regular shortening)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl (flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt). Set aside.

In another bowl, add the shortening and sugar and cream together. Add the eggs to the sugar mixture and beat for a minute.

Add the vanilla to the cup of milk and stir slightly. Set aside.

Next add a portion of the dry ingredients to the bowl of the sugar mixture along with a portion of the milk mixture. Stir until blended. Then keep adding portions of the dry ingredients and milk mixture to the sugar mixture until all is blended together.

Drop rounded spoonfuls of cookie dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes (until edges are slightly brown). Remove and cool on wire rack.

Make powered sugar frosting by following the recipe on the bag. Separate into three smaller bowls and mix in red food coloring to first bowl, green food coloring to the second bowl and keep the third bowl the color white. Spread the frosting on the cookies. Add additional decorations such as sprinkles, if you prefer.
