¾ c. unsalted butter
¾ c. brown sugar
½ c. white sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla
2¼ c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
¾ tsp. salt
1½ tsp. cornstarch
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. M&Ms

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 325°F. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with non stick cooking spray.

Add the butter to a medium sized microwave safe bowl to soften (should be half melted and half super soft).

Add in the brown and white sugar. Stir the butter and sugar together until smooth with a whisk.

Add in the egg and the egg yolk. Whisk until smooth.

Whisk in the vanilla.

Add the flour, baking soda, salt and cornstarch on top of the wet ingredients. Stir with a spoon,folding the flour into the wet mixture rather than mixing or stirring vigorously.

Add in the chocolate chips and M&Ms and fold in until combined.

Use a spatula to spread and dough into the pan evenly.

Bake on the middle rack for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
