1/2 c melted butter
3 1/2 c white sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 can condensed tomato soup (the regular kind, not cream of or tomato with basil)
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
2 c raisins
2 c. chopped walnuts (measure after you chop them)
4 1/2 c flour ( no need to sift)

Preheat oven to 350 º with rack in middle position.

Microwave the butter in your mixing bowl. Add sugar, let it cool a bit and mix in the beaten eggs. Add the condensed tomato soup and mix thoroughly. Stir in the cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt. Then add the raisins and walnuts and stir well. Last Add flour in 1 cup increments mixing after each cup.

Let the dough sit for 10 minutes or so.

Drop dough by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet. (If the dough is too stiff, you can chill it or dip your teaspoon in cold water.)

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown on top. Let them sit on the baking sheet for 2 minutes then transfer them to a wire rack to complete cooling.

When I bring them to the Cookie Walk, I've labeled them Raisin Walnut Cookies. They are soft chewy cookies that my grandson Zach is particularly fond of.
