1 pkg dry yeas
1/4 c. warm water
1 c. cream style cottage cheese
2 tbsp.sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. instant minced onion
2 tsp. dill seed
1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
2-2 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water and set aside. Heat cottage cheese to lukewarm. Remove from heat and stir in sugar,butter, onion, dill, salt,soda, egg,and yeast. Gradually add flour. Cover and let rise 50 - 60 minutes. Stir down.Turn into a well greased 8" round 1 1/2 - 2 qt. casserole dish. Let rise 30-40 minutes.Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes. Brush top with butter and sprinkle with salt .

Grandma always baked dilly bread whenever her cottage cheese was getting "old" or close to the expiration date, for years I thought you had to use old cottage cheese to make it taste as good as grandma's.Now whenever I have old cottage cheese stuck in the back of my refrig I think of grandma,and if the cottage cheese is ok I make some bread.
