1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup white sugar
1 lg egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder- sifted
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
1 gourmet jar of cherries
3/4 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cups heavy cream

Preheat oven to 350*

Large bowl cream together butter and sugar. Mix in egg and vanilla until smooth.
Slowly add dry ingredients, (flour, cocoa, salt, baking soda, baking powder,)
Mix till combined, mixture will be dry and crumbly. Using a cookie scoop make 1 inch balls roll them in sugar and place them on parchment lined cookie sheet.
Drain cherries but save the juice for later. Pat cherries dry press cherries into middle of each ball, do not be afraid to push cherries firmly.
Place in oven for 10-12 min.
When cookies have cooled frost them.
Frosting:
Heat heavy cream until it begins to simmer, pour in chocolate chips, 3-5 min. Stir mixture, once the chocolate is completely smooth add 1 tlbs of cherry juice.
As the chocolate smooths it will solidify, so microwave to soften as needed.
Spoon 1-2 teas of chocolate to each cookie.
