3/4 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup molasses

1 egg, beaten

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp. salt

2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. ginger

1/2 tsp. cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Beat together butter, sugar, molasses, and egg.

Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, and spices. Add to butter mixture and mix well.

Roll dough into balls and place on cookie sheets. Bake approximately 8 minutes; do not overbake. Remove from oven and sprinkle with sugar.
