- 3 c. sugar
- ⅔ c. cocoa
- ⅛ tsp. salt
- 1½ c. whole milk
- ¼ c. real butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Line 8 or 9" square pan with foil (buttered). In heavy saucepan, stir together sugar, cocoa, and salt. Stir in milk with wooden spoon (DO NOT use wire whisk.).

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to full rolling boil. Boil without stirring to 234º. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. DO NOT STIR.

Cool to room temperature or 110ºF. This can take 2 hours.

Beat with wooden spoon until it thickens and loses some of gloss. It helps to tag team.) It looks like frosting than thick syrup when ready. Put in pan quickly. Cool.
