1 - 12 oz. box vanilla wafers - crushed
1 lb. pecan halves
½ lb. candied red cherries
½ lb. candied green cherries or candied yellow pineapple
5 oz. golden raisins
2 large eggs
½ c. white sugar
1 sm. can evaporated milk
¼ tsp. salt

(Put aside 5 whole red cherries, 5 whole green cherries or 5 pineapple wedges and 15 pecan halves to decorate top of cake)

Put crushed vanilla wafers in large mixing bowl, Add cherries cut in half, and/or pineapple cut into wedges, pecan halves broken into two pieces and whole raisins. Mix well in large mixing bowl. Beat eggs well in another bowl and add sugar, evaporated milk and salt to beaten eggs. Add this mixture to other ingredients in large mixing bowl and mix well together. Place this in well greased tube pan and press down firmly. Now decorate top of the cake with cherries and/or pineapple wedges and pecan halves. Bake in center of oven for 1 hr. at 325 degrees F. Cool 15 minutes before removing from the pan.
