1½ cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
½ cup milk
2 cups uncooked oatmeal
1 cup chopped dates
½ cup chopped nuts
½ cup coconut (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
combine flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and spices
sift twice
cream butter
gradually add sugar and cream until light and fluffy
add eggs
stir in oats and milk
sift flour over dates, nuts and coconut and mix well
stir into oatmeal mixture, thoroughly
drop by small tablespoons onto lightly greased sheets 3 inches apart
bake at 350º at 10-12 minutes
