1 lb butter, softened
14 oz can evaporated milk
6 eggs
3 pkgs dry yeast
3 tbsp sugar
1cup warm water
½ tsp salt
8-9 cups all purpose flour

Combine yeast and sugar, cover with small towel and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine butter, milk and eggs and mix by hand until well mixed. Mix warm water with yeast and add to mix.

Mix in flour 1 cup at a time until dough is slightly sticky. Place in a greased bowl (use Crisco) turn over to bring greased side up and cover with a damp kitchen towel. Refrigerate overnight, dough will double in size and rise significantly.

When ready to roll dough, start making the filling by melting the butter, and combining with walnuts, milk (add ½ cup at a time) and sugar to desired sweetness.

Roll dough from softball sized balls to about ⅛" thick, sugaring as you turn and flatten out. Fill with walnut mixture, keep filling thin or it will ooze out as you roll the dough.

Preheat oven to 350ºF

Bake 2-3 rolls at at a time on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper for 20-25 minutes to a golden brown color. Cool before cutting in to slices.

Can substitute apricot or poppyseed filling (you can find these in the baking aisle at pretty much any grocery store). Go thin with both as they spread even more than the walnut filling.
