Grandma's Ginger Cookies Recipe

Cream

1/2 c butter
1/2 c applesauce
1 c brown sugar

Add

1/4 c molasses
1 egg
1/4 c orange juice
1 tsp orange flavoring

Sift together

2 c flour
1 1/4 c whole wheat flour
1 T Cinnamon
1 T ground ginger
2 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp baking soda

Mix then refrigerate overnight. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350º. We used a small cookie scoop put them on the cookie sheet. We then topped each one with a slivered almond.
