2 cups dark brown sugar
2 cups granulated sugar
¾ cups butter, softened
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
3 cups uncooked oats
2 cups coconut
2 cups raisins
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

Cream together the dark brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter and shortening. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, salt and soda and beat into first mixture. Add the remaining ingredients and knead into the first mixture. Drop by heaping teaspoons 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated 350ºF oven about 8 minutes or until cookies are nicely browned. Let cookies cool. Store in airtight container. For best results, shape dough into rolls, wrap and chill several hours, then slice and bake as above.
