8" - 10" Challah bread laof, sliced 1" thick
1/2 cup sweet butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 Tbsp. corn syrup
5 large eggs
1-1/2 cups halh & half
1 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp salt

Melt butter, add sugar and corn syrup. Mix till smooth. Wisk together eggs, half & half, vanilla & salt.
Coat bottom of a 3"x9"x2" pyrex or corning dish with sugar mixture.
Place 1" slices, fitted tightly together into pan.
Pour egg mixture on top.
Bake at 350* 35 - 40 minutes.
