Ingredients: 1 pkt yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 tsp. sugar 1 c. warm water 4 c. flour (or more) 1/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. margarine 1 egg

Directions: |
Directions:Dissolve 1 package yeast in 1/4 c. lukewarm water and add 1 teaspoon sugar and let stand until it bubbles.
Put 1/2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, margarine, & 1 egg in large bowl; add 1 c. warm water. Beat together and add yeast. Gradually add 4 c. flour, kneading when too stiff to beat.
Let stand 2 hours. Punch down and let raise again. Roll out 1/2" for cinnamon rolls or shape as desired. Let raise. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. Brush tops with butter. |

Notes: These are labeled as "Herm's Rolls" in the Range Line Cookbook. Hermia Wison was my best friend's mom. I make these at nearly every family dinner, but I double the recipe. They are a family favorite! This is also very similar to the cinnamon roll recipe I use. Even though the doughs are very similar, it is important to keep the temperatures and cooking times specific to each recipe.
