2 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
Garlic juice or minced garlic, as desired
1 sm can tomato paste + 1 can water
1 sm can tomato sauce + 1 can water
1 egg
8 oz lasagna noodles
Salt and pepper
1/4 tsp oregano
1t bsp brown sugar
12 oz small curd cottage or Ricotta cheese
1 - 8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions:
Brown together the ground beef and onion. Add tomato sauce, paste, water, garlic, brown sugar, and spices. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer about 40 minutes. Cook noodles according to pkg directions. Beat egg into cottage cheese. Layer in a sprayed 9x13 pan this way: Noodles, sauce, cottage cheese mixture, then mozzarella. Repeat 1 time. Bake at 350º for 45 -60 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is browned. May be assembled and baked later in day in which case add slightly longer bake time. Also may be assembled and frozen for later use, in which case let thaw before baking.
