1 c butter
1 c white sugar
2 eggs
1 c powdered sugar
1 c vegetable oil
1 t vanilla
4¼ c flour
½ t salt
1 t baking soda
1 t cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar with electric mixer
Add eggs, then powdered sugar, oil, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly.
Sift remaining ingredients and mix completely into the dough, using your hands if needed. Preheat oven to 375º.Flour hands and make 1-1/2” balls. Place 2” apart on baking sheet (lined or sprayed). Moisten a flat-bottomed drinking glass with water, then dip in sugar and flatten the cookie balls directly on the pan, to at least ¼ inch. Thinner is better. You can sprinkle additional sugar on top if desired. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until slightly brown at edges.
