1 c. crisco
2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp soda
3 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
4 c flour (may take a little more or less)

Date Mixture
½ c. water
½ c. sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1 lb. dates chopped

½ c. water
½ c. sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1 lb. dates chopped cook until thick Cool

Mix crisco & sugar until fluffy add vanilla, soda, and eggs mix well add dry ingredients mix well chill
Roll out dough ½ at a time spread with date mixture roll in a jelly roll and chill well slice and bake 350º for 8 min.
