Ingredients:
Ingredients:
16oz canned tomatoes, peeled and cubed
12oz tomato paste
16oz water
2 cloves garlic, or more if you like (we like a bunch of garlic)
4Tbs extra virgin olive oil
3Tbs Italian seasoning
4tbs oregano
4tbs parsley
1/2-1C parmesan cheese (or more, again, we like a bunch)
1 bay leaf
1lb ground beef, stew meat, cubed pork, or cubed chicken
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
In a large pot, brown ground beef or other protein. Use EVOO if you are using any of the alternate protein. (Stew meat sounds yummy). Drain ground beef well if using.

Return meat to the same pot, and add tomatoes, paste, spices, and cheese. Stir well to combine all ingredients and let simmer over medium heat stirring occasionally.

Continue to let sauce simmer on low to medium low heat for an hour or more. I am a believer that the longer you let a sauce cook the yummier it will be.

Finally, this sauce would be a great start to any dish that requires a red sauce or just pair with your favorite pasta and some good cheese, and enjoy!!

Personal Notes:
This recipe and ingredients is written as handed down to us from Grandma Judy, as I'm sure it was handed down to her.

This is a very simple recipe that allows for expansion of ingredients. If you do expand the ingredients, or do any substituting keep in mind that authentic recipes that are simple are that way because a dish can be made delicious by using just a few quality ingredients, preparing them with good technique, and finishing the dish by letting those few quality ingredients shine through.
