2 cups diced peeled apples
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup sifted flour
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp salt
1 tsp soda
½ cup chopped nuts
may add ½ cup raisins

Sauce
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
2 tbsp flour
1 cup water
½ cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Cake - Mix sugar with apples, let stand until sugar is dissolved. Add Egg and beat together.
Sift dry ingredients - stir into apple mixture, add nuts.

Bake in 1 - 8" square pan at 350º for 40 min

Immediately cover with hot sauce.

To make Sauce - Cook sugar flour and water together until clear. Add butter & vanilla. Still until butter melts. Pour sauce over cake while both are hot.
