2 large (12 oz) cans tomato paste
4 cans (12 oz) water
1 medium onion, chopped
3 buttons garlic, sliced thin
salt & pepper to taste
1 t sugar
1 T parmesan cheese
1 T sweet basil leaves
1 T oregano leaves
OR
2 T Italian seasoning instead of basil & oregano

Directions:
Directions:
Brown onions & garlic in small amount of oil in medium pot. Add tomato paste & water. Add seasonings & cheese when it hits the boiling point. Add meatballs & cook slowly for a couple of hours.
Cook 1 lb spaghetti (or other pasta) in large pot of boiling water until tender. Strain & blanch in cool water when done.
Remove meatballs from sauce & set aside. Add spaghetti to sauce & serve.
If just meat sauce is desired: After browning the onions & garlic, add 1½- 2 lbs ground beef. Brown & drain any excess grease. Add sauce, water & seasonings. Cook slowly for a couple of hours.
