Nonna's Homemade Bread holds a special place in my heart, not just for its simplicity but for the warmth and nostalgia it brings with every bite. This is one of my favorite recipes ever because it reminds me of Sunday afternoons spent in the kitchen with my grandmother, where laughter and stories filled the air as the dough rose in the quiet warmth of the room. The bread's crusty exterior and soft, airy interior are a testament to the love and patience infused in its creation.

Each loaf serves about 8 people, making it perfect for family gatherings or simply enjoying throughout the week. With a reasonable prep time of approximately 3 to 4 hours, including resting and baking, it's an achievable delight that rewards you with the aroma and satisfaction of homemade goodness. The ingredients are straightforward, requiring only flour, yeast, salt, water, and optional olive oil, and the directions are easy to follow, involving mixing, resting, shaping, and baking. Every step connects me to generations before, making not just bread but memories and heritage come alive in my kitchen.
