2 cup flour
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking soda
½ cup chopped nuts
1 cup shortening
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

1. Sift dry ingredients together and mix with nuts.
2. Cream sugar and shortening.
3. Add egg and vanilla to the creamed mixture and mix well.
4. Add dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
5. Shape dough into small balls and roll in sugar.
6. Press flat on a greased cookie sheet.
7. Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.
