½ c + 2 Tbsp butter, softened & divided
1 egg
1½ c coarsely chopped pecans
½ tsp vanilla
½ c granulated sugar, divided
1½ cup flour
6 Tbsp firmly packed brown sugar
½ tsp soda
1 egg
½ tsp salt

Bake @ 375 for 10-12 minutes
Preheat oven to 375. In a large skillet melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Stir in pecans and cook 10-15 minutes or until nuts are dark brown. Remove from heat & stir in 2 Tbsp granulated sugar. Cool to room temperature. Cream remaining butter & sugars in large bowl until fluffy. Beat in eggs & vanilla. Stir in next 3 ingredients into small bowl. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture stirring until a soft dough forms. Fold in pecans. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes until edges are brown. Cool on wire rack .Store airtight container.
