3 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup Karo syrup
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 cups nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cook first three ingredients until it spins a thread. Pour over beaten egg whites. Beat until stiff. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.

This is my Grandmother Martin’s recipe, but Grandmommy made it all the time. You can tint the candy whatever color you want. For pure white candy, she uses clear vanilla. This recipe will not work if you make it on a rainy day!
