Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º.
Stew the prunes, add prunes in a small pot and add enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil and cook prunes for about 8-10 minutes, drain and mash.

Mix all dry ingredients together. Mix in eggs, oil, buttermilk and stewed mashed prunes. Put into a bundt or tubed cake pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 1 hour and check for doneness with a toothpick. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan. Put the cake on a cooling rack and allow to completely cool. Transfer to the serving plate and cover until ready to serve.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
OK, this is not exactly how Granny's recipe reads. I might have added some baking instructions for those unexperienced bakers in our family.
So, to keep things real here is what her recipe says.

Bake at 325º for about 1 hour and check with a toothpick. BUT I did write this down so that might just might have been my version of the instructions. Granny is a GREAT
cook; this is one of her signature cakes that is almost always at holiday meals.
