4 quarts of cut up tomatoes
1 cup chopped or grated carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/2 small head of lettuce
1 Tbsp Salt
Pepper to taste (Grandma was generous with pepper)

Directions:
Directions:
Add all ingredients to stew pot.
Bring to boil then reduce heat to low.
Simmer for 1 hour.
Strain vegetables through a food mill.

Put 1 tsp seasoning salt into each quart jar. (1/2 tsp in pint jar)
Pour juice into clean, hot jars and process in water bath.
Quarts: 15 mins. Pints: 10 mins.

For really spicy V-8, add 1/2 to 1 tsp cayenne pepper at beginning.
